How to prepare a good tereré
Well cold water, yumes and fair yerba: step by step of Paraguayan tereré.
The tereré is the most popular way to take yerba in Paraguay and is ideal for heat.
What do you need?
- A gup or a big glass / mate.
- Yerba (umbrella or thought for tereré goes well).
- A pitcher with good cold water or cold juice.
- Yuyos (optional): mint, edron, burrito, lemon...
step by step
- Filling with yerba up to half or two-thirds.
- Inclines and forms the mountain as with the mate.
- If you wear yoke, put them in a mortar and put them in the pitcher with water and ice.
- I put the bombilla and pits cold water always at the same place.
Tips
- The yerba takes more to "open" with cold water: the first sips are more soft.
- If you use juice, that's natural and not very sweet: sugar cover the yerba's taste.
- The tereré share as well as the mate: round and without hurtle.
