Yerbapp

pumpkin, wood, glass or steel: what mate choose

Each material changes its taste, care and how long it lasts. We tell you pros and cons about each other.

The mate isn't just a recipient: the material changes how yerba feels and how care it needs.

Pumpkin

  • The good thing: That's the classic. Many say that it "flares" the mate with time.
  • The bad thing: we have to heal and dry them well after every use, or mold appears.

Wooden (tipstick, stick)

  • The good: cute and tough and the holy stick has a very characteristic soft smell.
  • The bad thing: at first it can have a wood flavour and also needs to be cured.

Glass, ceramics or steel

  • The good thing: they don't have to have a taste, they don't have to get cured and they get washed up easy. Ideal to try new yerbas and feel its true flavour.
  • The bad thing: the steel and glass can be heated up in his hand and those with double walls solve them.

What's best?

If you just get started or have mate at the office, one of them with ceramics or steel's best practice. If you want traditional experience, a well-cured pumpkin has no comparison.
