History of Barão de Cotegipe
Ervateira from the north of Rio Grande do Sul, with base in the municipality of Barão de Cotegipe, an area of long tradition in the cultivation of erva-mate.
Background
Founded by the marriage Etelvino and Ilma Picolus, that at the beginning of the 50's began production of reva-mate crafts at Volta Grande (then part of Erechim). He pioneered with the first industrial rotary dryer for erva-mate (1979) and today also production tias, mate toasted and tereré, with a subsidiary at Machadinho and export about 40% of its production to about 15 countries.
